A venue to remember

Sanquhar is a place with a rich history, the town’s existence possibly recorded as far back as Ptolemy, though rather more Scottish names like Robert the Bruce and William Wallace are associated with the settlement and its surrounds, as is the poet Robert Burns, who visited many times it’s said. And it’s hard to get more Scottish than this – the rules of curling were written by a Sanquhar man. A rooted place with some fine old buildings – though the castle has seen better centuries – and set in the pretty Nithsdale countryside, Sanquhar’s a fine place to stage your special day.
