Hazlewood Castle is steeped in a history of Kings and Knights and was first mentioned in 1086 in the Domesday Book. The Castle served as a maternity hospital during the Second World War (and afterwards until 1953) and as a retreat for the Carmelite Friars from 1971 until 1996. In 1997 Hazlewood Castle was sensitively restored and converted into a fabulous destination, offering luxury accommodation, stunning grounds and an award-winning restaurant. Outdoor activities and a relaxing day spa can also be enjoyed, all with excellent service that makes every event a truly memorable occasion.
In a fabulous location, only 20 minutes from the historic City of York and cosmopolitan City of Leeds and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Hazlewood Castle is a truly unique venue for the wedding of your dreams.
To make your dreams come true, we have created a selection of individual and elegant reception rooms, several which are licensed for civil ceremonies. Additionally, St. Leonard’s Chapel provides an impeccable church setting for blessings with excellent acoustics.
Every wedding day is a once in a lifetime experience and we strive to make each occasion as individual as you are.
