At the heart of Carmarthenshire lies the historic county town of Carmarthen and its famous castle, surely the best known spot in the county, albeit Llanelli at the south east tip is the most populous centre. Innumerable other small settlements dot the landscape, places of charm and character, busy little rural centres and busier market towns, tiny villages and tinier hamlets, though it is the large empty spaces between them that may entice some couples to choose a venue here, that sense of nature and tranquillity not lessened by the Cambrian Mountains in the north and the Black Mountains at the eastern border. It’s a place rich in ancient fortresses and farms, boasting even a Roman gold mine, places with plenty of romantic tales attaching to them – why not add yours to them?
