On the hunt for a big day backdrop with a difference? Horsebridge Station is a charmingly restored former Victorian railway station with a host of original features and landscaped gardens for you and your guests to enjoy.
Situated in the heart of Hampshire's scenic Test Valley between Stockbridge and Romsey, Horsebridge Station is set in 2 acres of secluded grounds, incorporating beautifully laid out gardens and with stunning views of the water meadows of the river Test; ideal for a summer event.
The venue features a station house, two full-length platforms (Platform 1 & Platform 2), a 1922 Southern Rail iron clad railway carriage, signal box, signals and a host of memorabilia from the golden age of steam. In the summer, when the roses are in full bloom, the gardens can be enjoyed to the full. The spacious lawns are ideal for outdoor games, while the ponds and waterfall close to the signal box are a popular spot for newlywed photos.
You can choose to get married on either Platform 1 or Platform 2; both with covered canopies so you don't have to worry about the weather. We have now added the Observation Carriage on the track of Platform 2 for signing the register if you wish.
The marquee is just a few yards away, situated on the lawn looking out over the garden. It comfortably seats up to 100 guests with room for your guests to stand around the bar and has a sound system and dance floor so you can party the night away. We offer access to the venue the day before so that you have plenty of time to decorate the marquee to suit the theme of your wedding. We can suggest several excellent local caterers or you are welcome to choose your own. The spacious marquee and grounds allow for a range of options from sit down meals to barbeques or a hog roast.
There is excellent local accommodation and ample parking where guests can leave their cars overnight when a taxi service can be arranged to take them home at the end of evening.
Horsebridge is within easy distance of Winchester, Salisbury, Romsey and Southampton and only an hour and a half from London by car.
