How much does a UK honeymoon cost?

A UK honeymoon can cost anything from £100 up to thousands depending on where you choose to stay, eat, and the activities you do.

However, in general, UK honeymoons are a lot cheaper than honeymoons abroad as there are no flight costs (or if there are they are domestic and cost a lot less). If you can drive you can simply jump in the car and only have to pay for the petrol, while trains are usually a lot cheaper than plane tickets.

Self-catering is also a really cheap and easy option when it comes to UK honeymoons and you can find some incredibly romantic places to stay for very little money. Look for remote countryside places to stay like shepherds’ huts, treehouses and lodges and your UK honeymoon could cost as little as £50 a night. Cute little B&Bs or accommodation listed on Airbnb can also be really good value.

At the other end of the scale, the UK is home to some of the world’s most heavenly five-star hotels, with Michelin-starred restaurants and super-luxe spas. If you go down this route, you can expect your UK honeymoon to cost more than a week away somewhere sunny, with many rooms and suites coming in at hundreds if not thousands per night, especially in the capital! According to a recent survey by Bridebook though, on average couples spend around £2000 on a UK honeymoon compared to around £8000 on a honeymoon in an overseas destination like The Maldives.

Looking to spice up your honeymoon stay-cation? Take a look at this fantastic range of couples toys from Love Honey – we promise you won’t be disappointed!
