About the engagement
We went on a family holiday to Edinburgh, Scotland and we stayed in a lovely air bnb in South Queensferry over looking a river that had bridges that light up in the evenings beautifully. We just a lovely day at Edinburgh zoo came back and then settled out then 1 year old to bed. When I came out of the room where out little boy was sleeping i found Peter on one knee in the living room of the Airbnb with the curtains open and all four ofb the bridges and the town below lighting up the living room. Scotland means alot to me as that is where my family are originally from so proposing here meant the world.
About the venue and what made it special
This venue had a certain feel about it that we just couldn’t resist. It was in the country side which we knew we definitely wanted and it it was the perfect size for the amount of guests we knew wanted to celebrate with us. Having accommodation was a must for us also as we knew would have guests that travel quite far to join us. The manor house was incredible too and i know my family enjoyed their stay.
The planning journey
It was very easy and we stayed calm the whole way through. I think it’s because we knew what we wanted and my partner left me to do all of the creative parts. He sis have a say though don’t worry! He just knows i have a creative eye for design and we had a vision for our diy wedding. We went to many fairs to find centre pieces and ideas but nothing stuck out to use. We wanted something personal so we that’s what we did and we had photos on the table and a few little nods to our relationship and the 11 years we have been together. Vaulty manor helped to make the process easy also. We had just the right amount of meetings with them and an incredible food tasting for our wedding breakfast too which they made fee like a romantic evening. Overall the planning was great.
