The Somerset town of Ilminster is an ancient one, with its roots deep in our history, something that perhaps will appeal to those with a live of their country. But it is a fine and quiet little country spot regardless of heritage, complete with market house and a splendid church – and it has to be said a particularly large one for such a settlement – plus a smattering of other Tudor buildings and thatched cottages, Ham stone prominent in many of them. The surrounds are equally pleasant, a peaceful spot for a wedding, with the River Isle to the west, and beyond it the Black Down Hills.
