The feel
Tucked away on a secluded corner of the Roseland Peninsula, Rosteague is one of Cornwall’s hidden jewels. The charms of this distinctive manor house lie beyond its medieval origins and striking Elizabethan façade: its rich sense of character is enhanced by hidden stairways and smugglers tunnels, exquisite gardens and surrounding rural glades which stretch down to a shell-strewn beach.
Set amidst the elaborate parterres of box hedging in the French Garden, the thatched Summerhouse makes an utterly unique place to exchange vows should the weather prove favourable. It also makes an idyllic place for your guests to wander during the drinks reception.
If you take the marquee route, you have a choice of two equally romantic settings to stage your reception; both the Croquet Lawn and the Front Lawn boast sea views to one side and equally magnificent vistas of the house to the other. Alternatively, the Music Room provides a superb venue for the celebrations. Converted from an old Cider House and opening onto the French Garden, this room can accommodate up to 70 seated guests and boasts a resident baby grand piano, its superb acoustics making it the ideal space for live music and dancing.
