The feel
This elegant Scottish town house was the home and workplace of E A Hornel, one of the Glasgow Boys from 1901 until 1933. Today, its inspirational surroundings provide the perfect setting for small weddings, corporate events and private functions.
Located in the heart of Kirkcudbright, the “Artists’ Town”, in the south-west of Scotland, Broughton House was extended by Hornel to include his studio and art gallery.
Housing a wonderful collection of art, the Gallery is an exceptional setting for exclusive events. With its mahogany panelling, magnificent stone fireplace and classical Parthenon friezes, it is ideal for wedding receptions, ceremonies and dinners.
Hold your civil, religious or humanist wedding ceremony in the Gallery, then stroll into the secret garden, with elements designed by Hornel himself influenced by his trips to Japan. Enjoy champagne and canapés under the wisteria and add a creative spark to your wedding photography. Religious and humanist ceremonies can also be held in the garden.
