4 Wedding Venues in Kirkcudbright found
Kirkcudbright has many faces, some of them perhaps at first glance unexpected. This small settlement is a country town and a down to earth fishing port with its harbour at the mouth of the river Dee. But it is simultaneously celebrated for its artistic heritage casing glamour and a touch of romance over the town. This was a major centre for Scottish painters in late Victorian and Edwardian times and with plenty of contemporary practitioners too – their presence saying something about the looks and atmosphere of the settlement whose architecture in the centre at least retains the feel of the early 20th century, though with older survivals like its Tolbooth and the ruined MacLellan’s Castle.
