Five words that describe the wedding

Lively, Romantic, Fun, Energetic & Unforgettable

About the engagement

Luke booked us a trip to Rhodes as my birthday trip, it was a romantic adults week away and we couldn’t wait! Anyway we have a thing in our family about gatecrashing other people’s holidays… and we got to Stansted airport and my sister and brother in law pop up to gatecrash out holiday.. at this neither me or them realised it was going to be an engagement!

Anyway night one was great we tried every cocktail on the menu and couldn’t get over the excitement of all being away together! Night two we all got ready to go out for dinner and Luke was like a headless chicken.. our balcony looked over the pool (which had a stage in the middle) and he kept shutting the curtains whilst I was getting ready! I was getting very annoyed and it was a constant open/close/open/close hahaha we went down and I wanted to go outside to get a sunset picture but Luke kept saying no let’s sit in here, an empty reception area… when we look back it’s hilarious that I didn’t clock on…

Anyway I went to the loo and when I came out Luke was gone.. he was standing in the middle of the stage in the middle of the pool with the whole hotel watching like we were the show for the night, it was so amazing! The perfect night and a whole week of the hotel celebrating with us!

About the venue and what made it special

It is beautiful from the moment you pull on to the drive way, it was the first venue we viewed and Luke said straight away this is the one! I thought that we had to look around but nowhere compared! It is a truly beautiful location but the staff there seemed to really connect with us, nothing was put on they really were interested in what we wanted.

The planning journey

Easy peasy (now it’s over haha!) I enjoyed planning but I am an over researcher! I would spend night after night researching photographers… videographers… singers etc… and every time I narrowed it down to a few Luke would make the final decision in about 5 seconds. It really is a case of opposites attract with our planning scenarios as I can never make a decision and Luke definitely can and every one he made was perfect!

Style and decor details

Rustic, greenery, lots of candles!

The favourite moment of the day

I don’t think I couldn’t possible pick a favourite moment! It was the most incredible day ever… right this moment I can think of standing there saying I do and I don’t think I’ve ever held someone’s hand so tight… it was perfect… but if you asked me tomorrow I’d have another favourite point!

Advice to other couples planning their wedding

The normal ‘take it all in because it goes so fast!!!’
But the best thing we done was tried not to leave each others side! We spent the whole day together and all that mattered to us was that we were both happy… sounds very selfish but now we have the same memories and can truly say ‘we’ had the best day.

The suppliers

Our best and most recommended supplier would be our videographer Pete Mitchell of Maverick Weddings.

Our singer who sung me down the aisle then our reception drinks etc Megan Buxton.
