For an older generation the idea of a Highland wedding may conjure images of Brigadoon, for a younger it’s more likely to be one of the Four Weddings: the first a magical tale of the simple village life, the second a full-on posh-nosh with pipes and kilts affair. Both reference the beauty of the location, which we think will appeal to the romantic in many planning their own wedding, and both make much of the sheer joy of let-the-hair-down Scottish dancing. The venues we list for the Highlands have plenty of their own magic about them, rather more top class event than peasant gathering, however. Though with a drop or two of the local potion you may well get even maiden aunts tripping the Gay Gordons.
