NB: To help you browse our best suggestions we have included some third party links. Some purchases made through these links may earn us a commission to help keep our blogs and offers current and up to date. Thanks for your support!

If you’re a small business, you may not think you have the recourses to edit imagery for social media or even for your For Better For Worse listing, but it’s not as hard as you think. Have you heard of Canva? It’s a free tool that can drastically improve how you’re using your imagery, hopefully meaning more customers will want to book with you!

Imagery that’s too big?

Sometimes when you’re providing your imagery to a website like us or even uploading it to social media, you can be told your image is too large. For many, this means the image can’t be uploaded as they think that unless you have Adobe software, you’re stuck. This isn’t true! If you need to make your images smaller, just head over to Canva.com and get started.

Canva has preset sizes for popular post types such as an Instagram post or Instagram story, so all you need to do is select which preset you’d like to use and upload your images then once you’re happy with its new size, just download the image!

As a general rule of thumb, when uploading your imagery to For Better For Worse, keep your images below 2mb to ensure they will be uploaded successfully.

Does attractive video content seem impossible?

If you want to create some fun video content for Instagram or even TikTok, you can easily do this in Canva. Select your template as mentioned previously then upload your video content. Once the video is uploaded, you can add attractive graphics, subtitles or even your businesses logo. You can then download this new video and upload it wherever you want.

Do you want to include icons or stock imagery but don’t have the budget to buy them?

That’s not a problem in Canva. This useful website has lots of free icons and images for you to use without having to credit an author. Just lookout for the elements with a crown on, these are premium elements that you will need to pay for or a Canva watermark will remain over them.

Now go and explore all that Canva has to offer! There are even templates for designing products such as t-shirts and mugs or check out their video editor here.
