The feel
Just eight miles from central London and Heathrow Airport, lies Syon Park, the London home of the Duke of Northumberland. Syon House is steeped in history and has played host to royalty for over 400 years.
The Great Hall
Guests enter through the porte-cochere and into the impressive Great Hall, re-modelled by Robert Adam in the 1760’s as a welcome to all guests entering the House. Based on a Roman Basilica with a black and white marble floor and antique statuary. It is dominated at one end by a statue of Apollo and at the other end by a statue of the Dying Gaul and is the perfect setting for civil wedding ceremonies.
After the ceremony guests are given the opportunity to walk through the ornate State rooms into the tranquillity of a centre courtyard, where they can relax with a glass of champagne whilst photographs are being taken.
The Great Conservatory
The spectacular Great Conservatory was designed by Charles Fowler in the 1820’s. This crescent shaped building is surmounted by a magnificent glass dome, and overlooks formal lawns and a fountain bearing the statue of ‘Mercury’ . It is here you would hold your seated reception followed by dancing beneath the centre dome through which the stars reflect, giving the party a magical effect.
