The feel
Two Cellos was formed over twenty years ago, and has enjoyed growing success as an ensemble offering an exciting alternative to the more conventional choice of string quartet, harp or piano.
In 2011, the duo was passed from founders Andrew Adams and Chris Hurn to colleagues Daniel Burrowes and Dan James. Andrew and Chris decided that the large number of commitments required by the group exceeded their current availability, and that they wished to explore other areas of music. Selecting two fine young cellists as successors, they handed over the partnership to Daniel and Dan.
The group is fortunate that many highly regarded colleagues have arranged popular music specially for Two Cellos – including Alan Cohen, who writes for the BBC, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Deutsche Radio, to name just a few. Specialising originally in music for weddings, Daniel and Dan are enjoying the opportunities of the modern musical landscape, bringing the versatility and vibrance of youth to as many forms of performance as possible.
