As we head towards a new year, you should start thinking about the kind of content you want to share in 2023. Is your current strategy working well? Or, is there room for improvement? We explore the different areas of content planning that you should consider for your 2023 strategy.
Start with a team meeting
Discuss ideas with everyone in your business, or if you work solo, discuss your ideas with your friends and family, they might surprise you with some content gems! Bouncing ideas around like this can help inspire you with even better ideas that you might not have otherwise thought of.
Think about your customer’s most asked questions
I’m sure you’re sick of answering the same questions time and time again, well why not create content that answers some of these questions for your customers. You’ll save time and potentially get more business from the people that had wondered the same thing but never contacted you.
Consider your themes and topics
What else are your customers interested in? If you’re a wedding photographer, perhaps they’d like to hear about other wedding subcategories such as bouquets or wedding dresses. Creating highlights on your Instagram for specific topics means that customers that visit your page can view your content time and time again. By providing this well-rounded content, your customers are more likely to follow you and engage with your posts.
Look at your competitors
Looking at the content your competitors are creating is a great way to see what works for them and what doesn’t. Then you can draw inspiration from their feeds and make improvements to your own, if your competitors are creating a lot of Instagram stories then maybe you should try creating more too. Introduce new types of content slowly so you can identify which specific content type is succeeding but make sure you’re not just creating content for the sake of it, it needs to offer your customer some value.
Prepare imagery
Choosing an image to post at the last minute isn’t the best idea as it can lead to spelling errors and poor image choice. Plan ahead of schedule, whether that’s one month in advance or one week in advance. Simply make a note in your phone of the image you’ll post on what day with the caption you plan to use so all you have to do is copy and paste! If you have some budget to play with then why not look into a scheduling tool such as Planoly that will automatically post your images for you.
We hope these tips will help you market your wedding business to new customers in 2023. Happy New Year!
