Here is our ultimate guide to the Oldwalls Collection: Oldwalls Gower, Fairyhill and Sant Ffraed House.
Where Are They Based?
The Oldwalls Collection is based in Wales (predominantly in the heart of Gower), with two venues located in and around stunning Swansea, and the newest addition, Sant Ffraed House in Abergavenny. Think rolling hills, glistening lakes and beautiful beaches. What’s not to love!
To top that off, Gower and Abergavenny are fantastic locations to stay, whether you’re going on a mini-moon or a hen weekend. There’s shops, restaurants and gorgeous landmarks to explore on every corner, so the location really is the cherry on top of these fantastic venues!
Why the Oldwalls Collection?
At this point, it’s clear as to why the venues owned by the Oldwalls Collection are just about some of the most magical places to spend your special day. But, if you still need further persuasion, here are some other fantastic reasons you should book your wedding with them:
- The Oldwalls Collection is renowned throughout the UK as a leading wedding brand, and their flagship venue Oldwalls Gower has been awarded the ‘Best Wedding Venue in Wales’, three years in a row, so you can guarantee your big day will be nothing but perfect!
- They pride themselves on challenging the status quo, so no matter how obscure you feel your requests may be, we can assure you, that’s definitely not the case!
- You’ll have the whole venue to yourself as all of their wedding locations are exclusive – meaning couples looking for a more private day are in luck!
- Gower was Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so you can only imagine how stunning the wedding photography will be with the gorgeous backdrops at hand!
- All of the properties are completely unique and act as the perfect blank canvas for your wedding theme, so there’s well and truly something for everyone!
Facts About Gower and Abergavenny
A fantastic thing about the Oldwalls Collection is the locations of its venues. As already mentioned, two of their venues are based in the heart of Gower, and their newest addition is in Abergavenny – both amazing locations for before and after the big day, almost like booking a staycation as part of your wedding. Here are some of our favourite facts about these beautiful towns:
- Gower is home to what is known as the ‘Best Beach in the UK’, Rhossili Bay, which is also known as the 3rd best in Europe and the 9th best in the World (according to Trip Advisor’s Travellers Choice).
- For all the sunset lovers and photographers, the sunset in Gower is the 7th most photographed sunset IN THE WORLD, imagine watching it after celebrating with your nearest and dearest, yes please!
- Abergavenny is famous for its festivals! If you’re a festival fan, check out the Abergavenny Food Festival set in September every year. Or, if you’re more of a sports lover, you’ll love the Festival of Cycling (which also includes the Grand Prix of Wales).
- The beautiful Rhossili Bay was included in an episode of Doctor Who! The episode ‘New Earth’ used the beach as a stunning background and Rhossili village was also featured in ‘Torch Wood’.
- Abergavenny is known as the ‘Gateway to Wales’ – and for good reason too, as it lies on the border between England and Wales.
