2 Wedding Venues in Lostwithiel found
Lostwithiel was once the capital of Cornwall, with its fine old church dedicated to St Bartholomew, 12th century bridge across the River Fowey and the solid old Guildhall indications of that former significance. Nowadays it is a decidedly small and picturesque town, its population only about 3000, set in equally lovely countryside rich in ancient woodlands – its name probably derives from the Cornish version of ‘tail of woodlands’. The hills here hide tranquil farms and historic houses. For guests arriving from elsewhere in Britain the tiny town does still have a train station, making life and journeys decidedly easier.
