The South Cambridge village of Duxford sits beside the river Cam amid rolling countryside of the gentler, greener type that suggests a very English idyll. The place of course has wider fame than its population of fewer than 2000 souls would normally imply, thanks to its celebrated museum; but less grand establishments may be of more interest to those planning a wedding here: only marginally less grand as regards its fine 13th century church; and more homely and welcoming perhaps for those of us less religiously or historically minded, its trio of village pubs. With the M11 running past the village a mile or so west it is easy to access too, handy for guests arriving, and for you departing on honeymoon (with Stansted half an hour away).
