Your vision
To bring the outdoors inside was our goal from the offset! The main theme was flower fairies which was incorporated into the cake, table plan, centre pieces and favours. To continue with this theme, we added explosions of foliage and pastel coloured flowers to give a real English countryside feel. Additionally, we added various old-fashioned props including 1930,s singer sewing machines, crates, suitcases and various pieces of up-cycled furniture.
The planning journey
We visited lots of shops up and down the country for the “perfect suit”. Tweed, slim fit, navy and matching was key in our search. Eight months prior to the wedding, we took a trip to Aaron’s hometown in Northern Ireland. McCall’s in Lisburn had the perfect navy Marc Darcy Tweed suit and we fell in love straight away.
We decided to steer away from the traditional suited and booted look for the groomsmen. We opted for a “Racing Green” slim fit tweed suit with a burgundy roll neck jumper to continue with the English countryside feel. The bridesmaids wore a peach coloured dress with a collar and open back.
The day and evening was hosted by my very good friend Andrew Donnell. He’;s a natural at keeping things running smoothly along with adding humour over the mic. During the ceremony and drinks reception a celloist played to create a sophisticated and relaxed feel. During the evening we had Academy Productions take control of evening entertainment. They did a fantastic job with tailoring the music to our taste!
The venue
We visited a few wedding venues but fell in love with Lillibrooke Manor & Barns straight away. Genuinely, the service, food, pictures and attention to detail was above and beyond anything we ever expected.

Favourite moment of the day?
Aaron’s mum wrote a poem which was truly touching …
As I walked you down the aisle to give you away
So happy so proud
On your wedding day
For I have always known my boy my son
With Jordan you had
Found the one
I wish you both joy, love
Fun and laughter
Most of all a happy ever after
So family, friends, brothers and sister
Let’s raise a glass to the new Mr and Mr
What would be your advice to other couples?
Take a moment away with your husband/wife to take it all in.
