History

The Wood Norton was built by exiled French royalty, Duc D'Orléans in 1897. The designs from this era are prevalent throughout the house, from the oak panelling, grand carvings, impressive terrace, and Renaissance gardens, to the multifaceted exterior of the house.

In 1939 the estate was taken over by the BBC and quickly became one of the largest broadcasting studios in Europe.
