Old Wardour Castle
Standing proudly amid lush green lawns beside the lake, with breath-taking views across gently rolling countryside, Old Wardour Castle is in one of the most picturesque positions imaginable, deep in Wiltshire.
Inspired by a French chateau, Old Wardour Castle was built in the late14th century as a luxurious home until it was damaged beyond repair during the English Civil war. Today the immense ruined walls, gothic stairways and arched doorways make wonderfully evocative locations for photographs and will instantly impress your guests.
At the heart of the medieval castle with simple stone walls, the Castle Room is a truly romantic location for wedding ceremonies for up to 40 people. Alternatively, the Lakeside Pavilion, built in 1773 for summer entertaining, features large airy windows picked out with stained glass. With stunning views across the lake, this room is perfect for wedding ceremonies for up to 60 people.
After your wedding, you and your guests can mingle and toast to your future on the lawns surrounding the castle or in the charming courtyard where before capturing some special memories on the medieval stairways and beneath the arches.
