Westerham in Kent can lay claim to two of our national heroes, General Wolfe with links to two fine old houses in the small town, and Winston Churchill having lived for more than 40 years just outside the settlement. Both men are commemorated with statues in the little town’s centre near where the River Darent flows, and the rural scene is completed with the surrounding hill country of the North Downs in which Westerham sits. Given the M25 runs just north of the village the town is easily reached from the capital and beyond, so with atmosphere, scenery and access it makes a fine wedding venue.
