Venue types in Rugby

Rugby of course was where the game of Rugby Union originated, a slightly more regulated and less aggressive sport than catching the bride’s bouquet – no gouging or elbows allowed in rugby. In the centre the market place is rather picturesque, and you’ll find a plethora of somewhat grand Victorian buildings dotted about the place, and in Rugby School some far older. The Church of England’s much amended medieval church is outshone here by the 19th century catholic one, a Pugin design with soaring spire that as Warwickshire’s tallest can be seen from much of the surrounding countryside, itself endowed with some fine old buildings.
