14 Wedding Venues in Hexham found
A couple of recent honours given to Hexham tell a story about the place – it won Britain in Bloom’s gong for best town, and Country Life’s as our best market town. The Scots from just over the border used to love it too, William Wallace arriving with a few friends to burn it down. The welcome is still warm, but happily border wars are long gone. Hexham Abbey is one of the finest churches in the Northeast, and there are plenty of other landmarks both in and around the town that are worth noting: in the centre the Shambles, its 18th century covered market; and in the environs some fine stone mansions. The Tyne Valley setting is a fine one too, a great backdrop for a rural wedding.
