4 Wedding Venues in Gairloch found
Depending on your inclination Gairloch can be the white-cottaged resort of that name, the sea loch on whose shores it sits, or the numerous little villages and smaller settlements that stretch around the coasts north and south of that inlet to form the wider parish. The houses even when they are nominally in the same hamlet are often spaced well apart, somewhere where it’s hard to feel hectic and harassed – a consummation devoutly to be wished on a wedding day!
Hold your wedding here and you are pretty much guaranteed a bit of romance in the air – though really there should be no shortage of that commodity at such a gathering. Take the views inland of the hills, or over the sea to Skye (speed bonnie boat and all that). The beaches too, some of them like the practically named Big Sand opposite Longa Island of impressive size, perfect for a snugly evening stroll, with the possible bonus of dolphin or even whale sightings. Warmed in the summer by the Gulf Stream (it’s said that one laird keen on his garden managed to grow peaches outdoors here), and somewhere cosy enough to have you wishing for snow in the winter, it’s hard to avoid using the phrase ‘getting away from it all,’ so we haven’t.
