5 Wedding Venues in Darlington found

Darlington will forever be associated in our history with its place at the very beginning of the railway age, but the town played an important role in travel in earlier times, as a coaching stop on the Great North Road, a role that it still fulfils today, though for car drivers rather than stagecoach passengers – so a great place to make a stop and – if you marry here – to make a start. It’s an ancient settlement too, dating from at least Saxon times, so deeply rooted in our national story, but it has also been a leader in liberal attitudes to same sex unions, the first such civil ceremony in the UK held here in 2001.
