If you fancy a Cornish wedding, there can be few if any places in the county more Cornish than Bodmin. It is an ancient town with enormous character, the only large settlement in Cornwall mentioned in the Domesday Book; Petroc, one of the county’s patron saints, founded his monastery here in the 6th century (the huge parish church is named for him too); and to the north-east sits the brooding romantic presence of Bodmin’s eponymous moor, starkly beautiful rocky slopes with the endearingly named Brown Willy its highest tor.
