When considering the thriving little town of Banchory as the venue for your wedding you should know that there is an excellent omen in the very name of the settlement – its Gaelic origins meant ‘blessed place’. That probably came about in the early Christian era, but even before that the land round about seems to have been special to the Picts, judging by the numerous stone circles in the district. And speaking of those surrounds – this is a very lovely area, with no shortage of woodlands, a favoured route into Royal Deeside.
