The ‘fine lady’ in the old rhyme about Banbury could of course be you if you choose to hold your wedding here, though probably best for that dress not to be on a white horse. The original could have been Lady Godiva, Elizabeth I, or a local noblewoman by the way. The watersides of the Oxford Canal and the River Cherwell provide lovely backdrops to this pleasant old market town, its 18th century church and Victorian Gothic town hall adding to the atmosphere. And of course your reception really needs to feature the local cakes in some way – pre-meal nibbles anyone?
