The Wood Norton exudes class, with its original 1897 features prominent for all to see, but with a full renovation, the house and grounds are vibrant, contemporary and elegant. Civil ceremonies can be held in the glass fronted Orangery or the Pavilion on the lawns. With a team of in-house chefs and dedicated wedding coordinators, all your wedding dreams can come true at The Wood Norton.

History

The Wood Norton was built by exiled French royalty, Duc D’Orléans in 1897. The designs from this era are prevalent throughout the house, from the oak panelling, grand carvings, impressive terrace, and Renaissance gardens, to the multifaceted exterior of the house.

In 1939 the estate was taken over by the BBC and quickly became one of the largest broadcasting studios in Europe.

The Restaurant

Retaining its original 19th century features, the restaurant is wood panelled with a working fireplace, perfect for a winter wedding. Rich tones help to create a romantic atmosphere.

Natural daylight streams into this space through the atrium ceiling. With a contemporary feel, this room would complement any colour scheme. An intimate yet spacious area, perfect to exchange your vows.

The Orangery

Overlooking the manicured lawns with further views stretching over the Worcestershire countryside, this modern and contemporary space is flooded by natural light. Wooden floors and white whimsical drapes help to create a wedding haven, perfect for hosting your special day.

The Wedding Pavilion

With uninterrupted views over the extensive grounds and the rolling hills in the distance, the wedding pavilion sits proud on the manicured lawn by the house. This truly is a magical location to say your nuptials.

Catering

With a two AA Rosette award-winning restaurant located at The Wood Norton, the chefs here truly know how to create food that not only looks incredible but also tastes amazing.

You will be invited to a menu tasting prior to your big day so that you can sample some of the delicious dishes. A three or four course wedding breakfast can be provided alongside canapés and an evening buffet.

Accommodation

There are 30 unique and beautifully decorated bedrooms at The Wood Norton which are offered at a special wedding rate for your guests. The bride and groom can benefit from an Executive Double room to celebrate your first night as newlyweds.
