The feel

The former 16th century coaching inn blends traditional hospitality with the comfort of a modern hotel and has been providing excellent food, drink and warm hospitality for over 500 hundred years. The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of the historic market town of Market Harborough and has it’s own large residents car park. There are easy links to local motorways and major road networks, and it is close to the town’s railway station which has mainline services to London and the North.

It is as comfortable, welcoming and elegant today as it was in its coaching heyday, when visited by King Charles 1 the day before the famous battle of Naseby in 1645. In 1688, Queen Anne, whilst still Princess of Denmark, stayed in Market Harborough, when the hotel provided lodgings for her and her considerable entourage, including the Earl of Dorset and the Bishop of London.
