Information about Stansted Park’s exclusive wedding facilities:
The Music Room in Stansted Park is licensed for Wedding Ceremonies and accommodates up to 80 seated guests in elegant splendour. Our grand piano is available to play, or you can provide recorded music or bring in other musicians. The room opens onto the East Portico with its private lawns.
The Main Hall is where your guests will be greeted and where, in combination with the Music Room, an informal drinks reception for around 100 people can be held after your ceremony. The attractive Staircase Hall is available for your photographs.
The Blue Drawing Room, recently refurbished and furnished with beautiful 18th century family portraits, seats up to 50 for a formal wedding breakfast and leads onto the South Terrace from which you and your guests can enjoy the wonderful views and dramatic sunsets. The room could be used for a buffet reception.
The private Chapel of St Paul is in the grounds close to the house, and you can arrange a Blessing here after your Wedding Ceremony. It seats approximately 100 people.
On the South Lawn next to the House is the marquee site for larger wedding parties and dancing until midnight. With far reaching views down one of the longest beech avenues in England and across rolling parkland towards the Solent it makes an idyllic setting for an evening of celebrations to complete your day.
Ceremonies and/or receptions take place at Stansted throughout the year on Fridays and Saturdays. Other days are also available when the house is closed to the public during the winter months.
We are licensed for Ceremonies by West Sussex County Council, whom you will need to contact in order to book a Registrar for a Civil Ceremony. Telephone: 01243 642122.
To discuss the possibility of a Blessing in the Chapel, please contact Dr John Strain on 02392 631252 who will be happy to discuss this option with you.
