The feel

The Castello Papale is a charming and luxurious hotel with a wide selection of suites to choose from, all unique and charming in their style. Available are seven suites and five deluxe rooms, all unforgettable. For example, the elegant Fox Suite is furnished in the Empire aesthetic of 19th century England, the opulent beauty of late 18th century France comes to life in the Marie Antoinette Suite and the Papal Suite brings to mind the lavish cultural endowments of Pope Julius’s famous renaissance legacy. For large groups, the delightfully rustic and totally modernized farmhouse (fattoria) and stables (scuderie) are made up of, respectively, five suites and two standard rooms and twelve standard rooms.

The grounds of Castello Papale are also spectacular. Upon passing through the front gate, guests are welcomed into a quaint square whose focal point is a large aviary. Beyond is the estate’s private chapel, dedicated to Saint Carlo Borromeo, the old horse stables, farm and olive mills, and a pristine swimming pool (originally a fishing lake!). Surrounding everything are the carefully manicured traditional gardens which so effortlessly connect the villa’s grounds with the adjacent countryside of softly rolling hills. An all-pervading feeling of peace and tranquility is perhaps Castello Papale’s most valuable gift to its temporary residents.
