The feel

Newhouse, a stunning Grade I Jacobean Manor House can be found twenty minutes South of the historic city of Salisbury on the Wiltshire / Hampshire border. Approached by a long avenue lined with lime and cherry trees, Newhouse with its wonderful lawns and surrounding woodland provides the perfect location for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Built in 1609, Newhouse was designed in a Y shape to represent the three arms of the trinity and is one of only two ‘trinity’ houses in Britain. Since 1633, the house and estate have remained in the same family and is now home to George and June Jeffreys.

Newhouse has been hosting weddings for the last twenty five years. Only one booking per week is taken and when booking, you are encouraged to visit, bring friends and discuss arrangements as often as you wish. Three rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies accommodating, 10, 40 or 120 guests. The ballroom with its elegant lighting and antique mirrors will seat a maximum of 102 guests for a wedding breakfast and smaller parties may consider the intimacy of the panelled dining room, seating 20.
