The venues are easily accessed by car, train and foot from all areas of Sussex, London, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent.

You will never find more romantic and unique settings for you special day, with exceptional customer care in the heart of a beautiful and historic town.

Lewes Castle

Lewes Castle is one of the few wedding venues in South East England where vows can be exchanged in the open air in glorious breath-taking surroundings.

Standing proudly at the heart of the beautiful South Downs National Park, the Castle offers you and your guests a unique historic venue with unrivalled hilltop views of the surrounding country southwards to the sea and northwards towards the Weald.

Built more than 900 hundred years ago as a Norman stronghold, its first owners were William de Warenne and his beloved wife Gundrada. Now we invite you too, to share in the Castle’s romance and become a part of its never-ending story.

Under the glorious Sussex sky, brides make their way to the top of the Keep, replacing the traditional walk down the aisle with that of the zigzag steps. Ceremonies are held in the stunning setting of the Pleasure Garden, where the bride and groom are married under the arch of the old medieval West Tower.

An audience of up to eighty guests may share in your ceremony from under the shade of the lime tree and do not worry we can provide cover if it rains!

From the high towers of Lewes Castle guests can see far and wide into the distant countryside. From the twisting streets of the original medieval town across to the rolling South Downs the views are truly spectacular and provide an unbeatable backdrop for photographs.

After the ceremony the wedding party descends to the lower Gun Garden where many couples choose to hold their own truly unique and bespoke wedding receptions or arrange for their own canapés and drinks to be served by our friendly and dedicated staff team before departing for elsewhere.

In the Gun Garden you may be joined by up to a hundred friends and relatives to celebrate your wedding day. What better way to mark your special day than by spending the day at your very own fairy tale Castle.

The stunningly romantic Lewes Castle is available for hire every day of the week between April and October.

Anne of Cleves House

Hidden away in the quaint Southover area of Lewes, Anne of Cleves House offers couples peace, intimacy and romance away from the hectic pace of everyday life.

Granted to Anne of Cleves by King Henry VIII, the building has a long and colourful history. From its early days as a lodging house for pilgrims to its present role as a historic house and museum, Anne of Cleves House has been providing a warm welcome to visitors for over six hundred years. A truly unique venue steeped in character and charm, Anne of Cleves invites you to share your day with us and to add your own page to the houses long and colourful story.

The East Room with its original oak beams, brick tile floor and huge medieval fireplace offers the perfect romantic setting for your civil ceremony. Flowers add to the atmosphere in summer and in the winter a log fire burns, lending a warm glow to the room. Making Anne of Cleves House truly the perfect venue for a wedding any day of the year.

An audience of up to fifty guests may share in your day, seated in rows facing the top table where couples exchange their vows. The peaceful and colourful Tudor inspired garden behind the house provides an unforgettable backdrop for your wedding photographs.

Bookings for wedding ceremonies last for an hour and a half which includes ample time for your guests to arrive and be seated before the ceremony takes place and for time afterwards in the adjoining garden for drinks and photographs. Additional time may be added if you wish to stay a little longer or even have your whole wedding reception here with us feasting and dance the day way.

Our friendly and attentive staff team are on hand the whole time and will ensure your wedding day is as perfect as you dreamed it would be.
