The feel

Homme House is a peaceful country house in rural Much Marcle on the Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire borders. The 5 acres of beautiful gardens are surrounded by a further 180 acres of traditional woodland and parkland, through which a lime tree lined private driveway leads to the house.

Homme offers couples exclusive use of all the main reception rooms, accommodation and surrounding gardens for the days leading up to their wedding, and couples are encouraged to use Homme as theirs. The approach is very flexible, with no prescribed suppliers but as much support, advice and recommendations as needed to help prepare for a perfect day. Homme House does not charge corkage.

The house is licensed for civil ceremonies, as is the beautiful 17th century Summerhouse in Homme’s walled garden. For church weddings St. Bartholomew’s Church lies on the edge of the estate and is available to couples not resident in the parish.

Up to 80 can be accommodated for a wedding breakfast in the house or up to 120 in a lawn marquee connected directly to the house, with a maximum of 120 guests at the evening celebrations.

The spacious lawn is an ideal area for reception drinks and croquet. It is surrounded by further spaces to explore, including rose garden, bog garden and walled garden with traditional orchards and wild flower meadow.

Homme offers overnight accommodation for up to 34 guests, with a stunning Bridal Suite and 8 other bedrooms in the main house, and a further 4 double bedrooms in Homme’s old Coach House, which also has its own kitchen, living room and courtyard garden. Homme’s unique and picturesque 17th century Summerhouse at the top of the walled garden is also available as a romantic overnight stay for 2 from May to September.

Homme is available for weekend weddings as well as smaller, more intimate civil wedding celebrations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with venue hire from just £5500 inc. VAT

Is your venue licensed for ceremonies inside and outside?

Homme House is licensed for civil ceremonies in a choice of 3 spaces within the main house: THE PANELLED ROOM(max. 80): A room full of Georgian character with wood panelled walls, polished oak floor and Jacobean replace. The space is flooded with light from a golden tiered chandelier and the three full length sash windows overlooking the grounds. THE DINING ROOM (max. 110): A beautiful room decorated with Chinese antique furniture, antique gilt mirror and chandelier, with a full length sash bay window overlooking the gardens. THE HALL (max. 25): An intimate space ideal for smaller ceremonies with the backdrop of the impressive flying staircase. Set in the beautiful surroundings of our Walled Garden, Homme offers the romantic backdrop of our 17th century Grade I listed Summerhouse for a garden ceremony in warmer months. The ceremony entrance is through a wisteria covered pergola and Beech hedging arch, and the ceremony seating nestles between flower beds and wild flower meadow. The Upper Chamber of the Summerhouse, with its vaulted ceiling and views over the Malvern Hills, is a beautiful and intimate option for the signing of the marriage schedule. Ceremonies of up to 110 can take place outside the Summerhouse, or ceremonies for up to 12 guests can take place in the intimate space of the Upper Chamber of the Summerhouse itself, with the wood burning stove adding a cosy and romantic warmth to the room in colder months.

Is there an exclusive use option?

At Homme we hold a limited number of functions and offer the house on an exclusive use basis only, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed few days together. We offer couples exclusive use of all our main reception rooms and 5 acres of gardens from 9:30am on Friday so that you can take your time over preparations and until 12.30pm on Sunday so that you can enjoy a leisurely start to married life!

How many people can you accommodate for dining?

Our main Dining Room seats up to 80 for the wedding breakfast, while for guest numbers of up to 110 (civil)/120 (church) you would be welcome to hire a marquee which can be connected directly to the house. The structure and equipment for a marquee wedding would come from an external supplier, and be an additional cost. We do not have a preferred, in-house caterer giving you the flexibility to choose the perfect caterer for your wedding - either a choice from our list of recommended suppliers, or another caterer you have set your heart on.

Are there bedrooms for overnight accommodation?

.We offer accommodation for up to a maximum of 34 guests in 3 spaces, as follows: The Main House (18 + 2 additional single beds) has a spacious Main Suite with four poster bed and seven further guest bedrooms. The Coach House (8 + 4 on 2 double sofa beds)has four en suite bedrooms in a separate self-contained house with reception rooms and private courtyard garden The Summerhouse (2) is a romantic 17th century gothic glamping style stay with separate private bathroom building All of our accommodation is available both before and on the night of the wedding. All guest bedrooms are reserved for and allocated by the wedding couple so that you are able to choose only those you would like to stay on the Homme House Estate for your wedding. Accommodation is not included in the venue fee, and there is no obligation to use all or any of it if you do not wish to. There are a number of good hotels and bed & breakfast establishments close to Homme House. Overnight guests enjoy exclusive use of the guest accommodation and guest kitchens, and the gardens surrounding Homme House during their stay with us. On the morning after the wedding we serve breakfast in our Main Dining Room at the time of your choosing allowing you to dine together with all of your guests before check out at 12pm and departure at 12.30pm.
