The feel
Set in the heart of the dramatic Peak District countryside, The George, with its 400 year history as an Inn, offers an idyllic setting for an intimate wedding. Our splendid Courtyard Suite with its pre-reception bar and a sun-trap walled patio will be at your disposal. Picture your guests sipping Pimms or Champagne on a summers evening prior to enjoying critically acclaimed food, from a menu tailored to your own requirements. We have 24 bedrooms which meet every modern requirement, yet are perfectly in keeping with the history of the building.
As you are probably already beginning to find out, the organisation of your day is potentially daunting; where do you start?
Well, that’s where we come in.
We have a great deal of experience in organising and running Weddings, both Receptions and Civil Ceremonies and we can advise you every step of the way to ensure that you have a superb day.
We have a small team at the George, this means that the people you talk to throughout the details stage of your Wedding will also be there with you on the day. Above all, we are here to help and advice – we want to create an experience individually tailored to you, that is why we don’t offer ‘packages’.
I am available to talk to you, as is Martin Batty our Restaurant Manager, on any aspect of your Reception. You can also meet our Chef, Helen Prince to discuss your individual menu requirements.
One last note, if you aren’t travelling away immediately after the Wedding Reception, may I offer you our newly refurbished Four Poster room for the first night with our compliments. I hope we have the opportunity of being of service.
Please contact us to arrange a mailing of our latest Wedding Brochure. I would be delighted to show you around our charming hotel, I look forward to meeting with you.
