Castle Park and Summer House

Renowned for its magnificent gardens, the award winning Castle Park provides a picturesque place for you to capture some special moments and create wonderful memories with your loved ones. The scenery is unlike anything else in Colchester, which is why Colchester Castle Park is an award winning site of national importance. There are areas of the park which are ideal for marquees; the perfect addition for any outdoor ceremony, enabling you to continue your celebrations into the night within wonderful natural surroundings alongside your family and friends.

The Summer House: If you fancy the idea of an outdoor ceremony, we have a brand new structure which has been recently licensed for ceremonies. The Summer House, located in a secluded spot just behind the Castle, was built by Charles Grey in the 18th century to replicate a Roman Temple, and boasts stunning views over the Park alongside a very romantic walkway lined with large London Plane trees. The Victorian Bandstand is also a prominent feature of the park and is a much loved and visited spot for many locals of the area. This structure isn’t licensed but you are able to hold non-statutory ceremonies here.
