The feel

The Bodleian Libraries are nestled in the heart of Oxford’s dreaming spires, and invite you to step into your dream wedding venue. The Bodleian brings together scholarship and history for an unparalleled big day.

The magnificent Gothic Divinity School is the original examination room of the University of Oxford and was designed to inspire those who entered! Welcome your guests in through the beautiful Wren Door, and after your ceremony sit down to dine in the Divinity School, with its breath-taking elegance, stone-carved ceiling and dual-aspect windows. Then dance the night away in a room where magic happens!

The adjoining 17th Century Convocation House, constructed to provide a distinguished meeting place for the University’s supreme governing body, today also offers a splendid setting for a wedding ceremony for up to 100 guests. It’s chapel-style seating emphasises the openness of the room, and the beautiful woodwork compliments all colour palettes. Couples use a range of floral decorations in the space: podium-style, meadows or broken arches. Utilise the acoustics with a string quartet while you walk down the aisle.
