The feel
Situated between Southampton and Winchester, the grounds of this historic Grade II listed manor house make the perfect setting for a marquee wedding reception. Opposite the manor house is a picturesque 12th century church.
Baddesley manor dates back to the doomsday book with links to the crusades and Henry VIII. Now the main wing of the building is in the elegant Georgian style. The manor has a very large, flat lawn to the side of it that in the past was used as a grass tennis court, this makes the lawn a perfect site for a large wedding marquee.
With the house on one side and large trees and shrubbery on the other three sides, the lawn catches the sun at all times of day but always has areas that are in the shade. You and your guests will have exclusive and private access to the lawns all day from morning until midnight.
The lawn is big enough for a marquee up to 15m wide by 30m long and so could accommodate 200 guests but the ideal size is 9m or 12m wide x 24m long and so suits a party of about 150 guests
For over 900 years couples have made their vows in the in the pretty 12th century church of St John directly opposite the manor. Couples who wed there love the fact that they can just walk across the road to a splendid marquee in an elegant country house.
