The Queens House

The feel

Located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site at Greenwich and a former royal palace, the Queen’s House is an elegant venue for weddings which require an air of distinction.

The north side of the building is ideal for big weddings up to 120 guests.

The civil ceremony would be held in the elegant Great Hall that overlooks the Thames. There are fantastic original features in this space such as the black and white marble floor, carved ceiling and suspended balcony.

After the ceremony, guests would make their way to the Orangery and South Parlours, the south side of the building, which have beautiful views of Greenwich Royal Park and the Royal Observatory to enjoy a drinks reception before then returning to the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast.

Following dinner there is then the opportunity for guests to retreat to the Undercroft to dance the night away. This space has a fantastic party atmosphere and additional guests may be invited at this stage of the evening.

The south side of the building, where the Orangery and South Parlours are located, is also ideal for small wedding ceremonies and receptions for up to 50 guests.

The civil ceremony would be held in the elegant South West Parlour overlooking the Royal Observatory. There are fantastic original features in this space as well as magnificent original artworks by the famous Van de Veldes.

After the ceremony, guests would make their way to the Orangery which has beautiful views of Greenwich Royal Park, to enjoy a drinks reception before making their way to the South East Parlour for the wedding breakfast.

There are also wonderful locations for photography at the Queen’s House that guests would be welcome to make the most of while on site, for example The Tulip Stairs, Colonnades, Horseshoe Staircase and Loggia.
