2021 weddings are set to be the best and most anticipated celebrations yet, after a year without many “I dos” and a pandemic putting paid to all our best laid plans in 2020. So it’s no surprise that the trends in weddings are all based around making things bright, beautiful and as celebratory as possible.
This desire to party like never before has even filtered down to the world of wedding dresses, with coloured wedding dresses being in vogue as a way to inject some festival fun and a sense of happiness into what will be a long-awaited wedding for many couples.
Many brides have had a lot of time in lockdown to think about and search for their eventual big day look, and are embracing their adventurous side by choosing dresses in a whole host of different colours and with stand out details like sequins, bows and sashes.
This doesn’t mean you have to suddenly switch to a ruby red wedding dress or be inspired to wear black à la Christine Quinn (see our round-up of the best black wedding dresses on the high street here). It does mean you might want to consider one of the gorgeous and whimsical dresses in boutiques that are created using fabrics in a range of pastel shades, like pale pink, soft blue and blush though.
We’ve rounded up the best coloured wedding dresses, as well as gowns with statement colourful details that you’ll fall in love with for you 2021 wedding.

It includes this pretty subtle pink dress made from layers of fine tulle covered in intricate pastel-pink embroidery. We particularly love the lustrous satin piping and elegant tiers and ruffled trims. A seriously romantic way to embrace the trend.
Tuileries Dress, Monique Lhuillier
A coloured wedding dress doesn’t have to just contain one block of colour to fit the trend for 2021. Floral gowns are a perfect way to embrace the look and add a really romantic edge to your big day look. Flowery wedding dresses don’t get much more spectacular than this statement gown from designer extraordinaire, Monique Lhuillier.

Grey on your wedding day? While you’ll be hoping the weather won’t be grey there’s no reason you can’t wear a dress in a heavenly shade of grey, especially when the design is as idyllic as this Dana Harel number. Statement sleeves are another of 2021’s hot trends, so you’ll be hitting all the right style notes.
