30 Gorgeous Long-Sleeved Wedding Dresses For 2021
Published date: 22nd June 2021 | Author: Hollie Bond
Long-sleeved wedding dresses are having a bit of a moment. Ever since Kate Middleton walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey in that exquisite lace sleeve wedding dress we’ve all been more than a little obsessed by the elegant look. And, the trend for sleeves shows no signs of going away.
Meghan Markle also opted for the long-sleeved look at her 2018 wedding and many stylish celebrities have recently rocked the look on their wedding days. We’re talking about Kim Kardashian, Ellie Goulding, Priyanka Chopra, Princess Eugenie, Katie Upton, and Kelly Clarkson to name but a few.
If a long sleeve wedding dress is a style you love the look of then you’ll be spoiled for choice with everything from stunning lace sleeves to illusion sleeves to choose from. Long-sleeved dresses work particularly well at autumn or winter weddings as they provide a little extra warmth on chilly days.
However, if you love the style and are having a spring or summer wedding then look for dresses that have sheer sleeves or use a more breathable fabric so you don’t overheat if you’re fortunate enough to have glorious sunny weather.
While a lot of celebrities opt for princess-style dresses with sleeves, long-sleeved dresses don’t always come with full ballgown skirts. There are some beautiful short wedding dresses with long sleeves that you could have as a second dress for the evening or wear if you’re having a destination wedding somewhere hot.
Fit and flare dresses or a skirt with a thigh slit can also add a really edgy and sexy look to a long sleeve dress, while you’ll find plenty of vintage-inspired dresses with long sleeves too if that’s more your style.
If a full sleeve to your wrist isn’t doing it for you, but you’re not keen on the strapless look, then consider a shorter sleeve wedding dress with a pretty cap sleeve or three-quarter length sleeve instead.
