During the summer months, entertain your guests in the secluded walled garden and in the winter relax by the warmth of a roaring log fire.

The Black Lion is available for exclusive hire ensuring that you are surrounded only by your friends, family and loved ones. Alternatively, we offer room hire packages which are priced according to your numbers. There are ten individually designed boutique bedrooms, including The Sancerre Suite which has its own lounge and perfect for your first night of wedded bliss.

Exclusive use of The Black Lion Hotel

The hotel is all yours and your can entertain your guests as you wish and enjoy a house party atmosphere.

On arrival, the bride will be shown to her room, where she can prepare for her wedding whilst guests can mingle in the garden, lounge or bar.

3.00pm – The ceremony can take place in your chosen location (depending on numbers)

3.30pm – Drinks and canapé reception in your chosen setting

5.00pm – The Wedding breakfast is served in the restaurant

7.00pm – Speeches and coffee

8.00pm – Evening guests arrive

12.00 – The evening ends and carriages arrive for non-resident guests

8.30am-10.00am – Sit in the restaurant and enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast

11.00am – Guests leave the hotel

Daytime ceremony and wedding breakfast

On arrival, guests can mingle in the garden or in the bar area.

11.30am – The ceremony takes place in your chosen room, subject to numbers

12.00 – Drinks and canapés can be served in the garden if the weather is fine or in the Drawing Room

1.30pm – The wedding breakfast is served in the elegant setting of the restaurant

3.30pm – Speeches and coffee

5.oopm – Guests leave the hotel

Should you wish to extend your celebrations, you can opt for an evening reception and have exclusive use of the restaurant and garden until midnight.
